I’ve always thought “sayings” were the distilled version of stories. Idioms like “curiosity killed the cat” or “slow & steady wins the race” seemed enough to “get the point across”. I now know

It’s sweet to have her. A plate full of blue sky paired well with a glass of something full bodied or half full. A light touch complimenting something expansive.
